ANNA CRUICKSHANK FUND

ANNA CRUICKSHANK FUND OF SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF DUNFERMLINE

Anna Cruikshank was for many years Lady Supervisor of Dunfermline High School. She was a founder member of Soroptimist International of Dunfermline, a former President and was made an Honorary Member of the club. She died on 9 April 1994 and left the club a legacy to be used as the Club Officials and her Trustee agreed. It was agreed that bursaries would be granted in support of the following areas:

To facilitate study in the United Kingdom, a contribution towards fees, accommodation or travel costs.

To send a British subject abroad to study or provide appropriate educational services.

We have made about 30 awards to a wide diversity of projects; some for youth programmes such as World Challenge; Air Cadet training courses; Link Overseas; Woodmill High School Reading Project.
Schools in Kenya and Malawi have had help with classroom building and refurbishment and Guides and Scouts have also benefitted. We even sent a piano tuner to the rain forests of South America!

The fund is being used up but we still have some left and application forms can be had from SI Dunfermline.
