PRESIDENT'S CHARITY
Fife Young Carers is a Fife wide charity which supports children and young people aged 8 18, whose emotional, educational or physical development is being affected by their significant caring role for a family member. A young carer does things like domestic chores, personal care, managing money, and medical care. Research shows that the average age of a young carer is 12 years.
FYC offers young carers emotional and practical support as well as advice and information in relation to their own personal needs and circumstances. This is done through providing the following services
Regular group activities
One to-one support
Residential and day trips
Awareness raising
FYC encourages positive life styles and social relationships and works to reduce exclusion of young carers within their peer groups, school environment and the wider community.
